Penial folds line the entire concave surface of the verge from the lobe to the base of the verge, whereas in H. totteni the folds end far from the end of the base. The penial lobe is not a smooth, simple appendage as in H. totteni (Davis, 1966, Fig. 5) ; instead, it is more triangular and has glandular folds perpendicular to the verge. The glandular lobe seems to be further out along the penis from the base in H. truncata compared to its position in H. totteni.
