Gold and silver-alloy tore. Near Newark, Nottinghamshire. About 100-50 BC. This tore was discovered by a metal detectors' 2005. It is thought that it was deliberately placed in a specially dug hole, perhaps as an offering to the gods. Torcs were worn around the neck and were probably worn on a special occasions like a mayoral chain.
