SAINTS - HUBERT Saint Hubert, the 8th century bishop of Maastricht and LiÞge, is especially famous in art for his conversion (which is seemingly confused with that of St. Eustace). While hunting, he saw the image of Christ on the cross, between the antlers of a stag (the story is depicted in this image). The hunting horn, so prominently displayed around his neck, in this image, is said to be that now in the Wallace Collection, London. He is the patron saint of hunting.
