A skull of an execution victim, Germany, 16th/17th century. Wrought iron cage consisting of six bars (one replaced), cotter-pinned to an iron baseplate. The bars joined at the crown with an attached suspension chain. Within the cage a female(?) skull showing clear sign of age. Height 22 cm.
