Most of the pages wereflexible but were dirty, discolored, and slightly were foxed. Two folded plates in the back ofvolume two were hand colored; some colors were verysoluble in water. The reds had transferred to facingpages. Some colors were smeared. The exterior pageswere marked with graphite pencil and stamp inks. Someinks might feather or fade slightly in water.
