SOUTHWEST ASIA (AFPN) -- In the pale-green glow of a C-130 Hercules' cargo compartment, Staff Sgt. Jason Hall keeps an eye out the troop door window for any signs of an enemy attack. If he spots anything, the sergeant's job is to trigger flares to distract possible missiles. The crew flew a New Year's Eve mission to deliver 13 passengers and 13,000 pounds of cargo -- landing at Balad in 2006.
