Excavated prehistoric tools. Different types of flint flakes that were found at the archeological site of the Valdaro Lovers. The Valdaro Lovers is the name given to two embracing neolithic skeletons that are believed to be a man and woman in their early twenties who died about 5000-6000 years ago. Flint flakes like these were used by early humans for a variety of tasks, including butchering animals, cutting wood and hunting. Photographed at , near Mantova (Mantua) in Lombardy, Italy.
