Madopar Parkinson's disease medication. A patient taking a capsule of the medication Madopar, which is used to treat Parkinson's disease. This medication is a combination of levodopa and benserazide. Levodopa is converted into the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain. It replaces the dopamine that is lost in Parkinson's disease. Benserazide enhances the uptake of levodopa.
