NEW CARS FOR FOND DU LAC COMBINATION CROSSING FOR STEAM AND ELECTRICRAILWAY The St. Louis Car Company has just finished an order ofcars for the Fond du Lac & Oshkosh Electric Railway Com-pany, one of which is illustrated herewith. The general dimen-sions are as follows: Total length of car body, 34 ft.; totallength over bumpers, 45 ft.; total width, 8 ft. 8 ins. They are The Indianapolis Switch & Frog Company, of Springfield,Ohio, has brought out a special crossing for steam and interur-ban electric railway tracks, which allows a greater flange roomfor the electric track than the ordinary steam and street railway. NEW DOUBLE-TRUCK CAR FOR FOND DU LAC of the semi-convertible type, having the Robertson patentchannel steel side sill bottom, with double flooring. They arefinished with the steam coach roof, and have a double set ofwindows, the outer window to be removed for summer service,and the inner window arranged in two sections. Both upperand lower sash drop within 24 ins. of the floor line, makingpractically an open car. These cars are provided with smokingcompartment and toilet room, and are heated with the PeterSmith hot water heaters. The interior finish is of Louis Car Companys patent walk-over seats, coveredwith plush, and pantasote curtains are furnished. The car hasvestibules at both ends, with removable folding doors. Car Companys ratchet vertical brake wheel, angle-ironbumper, arc headlight, track scraper and fender complete theequipment. The car is mounted on the Xo. 23-A M.
