Duke of Chandos. Minchington Hall, Southgate Green. Arnos Grove. THORNTON 1784

View of the Duke of Chando's Seat, at Southgate, in Middlesex. Artist/engraver/cartographer: Roberts Sc. Provenance: "The New, Complete and Universal History, Description and Survey of the Cities of London and Westminster, the Borough of Southwark and the parts adjacent…", revised, corrected and improved by William Thornton Esq., London , printed for Alex Hogg, at the King's Arms, No. 16 Paternoster Row. Type: Antique copperplate engraved print. Minchington Hall, or Mincington Hall, or Minchenden House, was a country house and estate in Southgate, then in the county of Middlesex in England, and now in Greater London. It was on Southgate Green and the south side of Waterfall Road, and adjoined Arnolds (Arnos Grove) slightly further east, which was originally less significant than Minchington. The estate was merged into Arnos Grove in 1853 and the house demolished.
