Artist/engraver/cartographer: Captain Greenville Collins, Hydrographer to the King. Provenance: "Great Britain's Coasting Pilot", by Captain Greenville Collins. Captain Collins was commissioned by Charles II in 1676 and appointed by Samuel Pepys (then Secretary to the Admiralty), to chart the coasts of Great Britain. The resulting atlas was the first original sea atlas to be produced by an Englishman. The last edition was published in 1764. Type: Engraved uncoloured sea chart with compass rose. The map is orientated in an easterly direction. Engraved uncoloured sea chart of the Norfolk coast around Great Yarmouth.
