Dovercourt is a small seaside town in Essex. These original six legged lighthouses were built in 1863 and used until 1917 to aid safe passage into Harwich. They were restored in 1988. The late afternoon December Winter Solstice gave up this pink and blue sky and cast a very long shadow across the sea to the shoreline. A firm camera mount and a long shutter opening keeps the lighthouse sharp but blurs and softens everything else.
