German Rudolph of Swabis
This 1882 illustration shows Rudolph, duke of Swabia from 1057-1080. He was the German pretender to the Crown from 1077 to 1080. At the Battle of Elster River against his brother-in-law, the German emperor Henry IV, on October 14, 1080, he was mortally wounded.
