I Want to Vote, But My Wife Won't Let Me
An English suffrage movement postcard showing a man doing domestic chores and complaining he doesn't get a vote. "Everybody works but Mother, she's a suffragette" is the message. Women's suffrage is the right of women to vote on the same terms as men. This was the goal of the suffragists in the United States and the suffragettes in Great Britain. Postcards were a common medium for carrying these messages.
