Thisepithelial covering isnot fiee but coversthe under surface ofthe median portion of an expansion of pia mater named the velum. The epithelinni follows all the inequalitiesof two fringed vascular tracts (choroid plexuses) which project doAvii-vrard from the membrane ; and, therefore, becomes torn away whenthe pia mater is removed. At the white stria on either side it iscontinuous with the epithelium covering the lateral waU.
