Black rhinoceroses (Diceros bicornis) at a watering hole. In the foreground is a female, bhind is her calf interacting with a young male. These are largely solitary animals, that feed on vegetation. They are browsers that are crepuscular in their movements. They can reach a height of over metres and can weigh up to 1400 kilograms. The numbers of Black Rhinos in the wild have reduced considerably over the last 40 years due to poaching and the species is currently classified as Critically Endangered by the IUCN.
