An F/A-18C Hornet aircraft of Strike Fighter Squadron 147 (VFA-147) flies over an oil platform during Operation Southern Watch, a multinational effort establishing a no-fly zone for Iraqi aircraft south of the 32nd parallel in Iraq. The Hornet is armed with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles on the wing tips and AIM-7 Sparrow missiles on the wing pylons. VFA-147 is embarked aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS NIMITZ (CVN-68).
