DUFFERIN TERRACE AND THE LOWER TOWN FROM THE CITADELThe Dufferin Terrace, along the riverward edge of the Upper Town, is the finest promenade in the world. It extends about a quarter of a mile from the buttressbuilt by Champlain in 1G20 for the Chateau of St. Louis to the base of the Citadel. The Terrace is 182 feet above the St. Lawrence and commands a view of extra-ordinary beauty. Below are the curious streets of the Lower Town and the busy wharves.
