In this handsome antelope the horns are longer than in its allies, considerably exceeding twice the length of the head, while the frontof the fore-legs is black, and the hair long. Height at .shoulder, 40 or41 inches. Like the puku, this kob was discovered by Livingstone and hiscompanions Oswell and Murray during their journey to Lake Ngamiin 1849. In point of size it approximates to the true waterbucks, from which, however, in addition to the features already mentioned, itmay always be distinguished by its lighter and more graceful build. 2o8 RECORDS OF BIG GAME The general colour
