Davies, the famous vocalist, started his post-schoolcareer in a grocery store at Swansea. Born at Iontardawe,Swansea Valley, he at the age of 19 came to London,taking up his musical studies at the Royal Academy ofMusic, where he obtained the bronze, silver and gold meSals,and the Evill Irize. He became an .?\ssociate and then aFellow of the .\cademy. He joined the Carl Rosa OperaCompany, taking the principal roles in all their repertoireof operas, then played in Dorothy, Red Hussar, Doris and Ivanlioe. For the past thirty years he hasappeared exclusively on the concert platform, singing mostfrequently at the .\lbert Hall, Queens Hall, and at theprincipal London and provincial Festivals.
