English: Cartoon published on the cover of Furnica, the Romanian satirical magazine, prompted by a diplomatic incident between the kingdoms of Greece and Romania. Earlier that month, SMR Împratul Traian, commanded by Captain Perieeanu, had been vandalized by Greek civilians while anchored in Piraeus; this prompted speculation that Greece was playing at war. In this cartoon, a fustanella-wearing George I of Greece, dagger in teeth and pistol in hand, leads a band of Klephts. Although bent on war, these characters are hard at work controlling their riding beasts, which are giant rabbits. The image was published with a caption, in macaronic language, poking fun at the Greek difficulties in pronouncing Romanian: Zito Gheorghios protos, regele nostru ! S pufteasc rumânii la rzboi, dac le d muna : noi suntemo gata ! ('Zito Georgios protos [i. e. long live George the first], our king! Let's see if de Rumunians are really ready to do war: we sure are ready!'). Note: The artist is not credited in the magazine, but is identifiable by the T-with-ring monogram, bottom left. 24 June 1910 55 Ion Theodorescu-Sion - Zito Gheorghios Protos, Furnica, 24 iun 1910
