This a stitched panorama taken from the top of Tour Maine-Montparnasse, more commonly known as just Tour Montparnasse or Montparnasse Tower. Many people heading to Paris for the first time may be inclined to think that the top of the Eiffel tower would be the best place to get a picture of Paris from, but of course any pictures from there would not have the Eiffel tower in them and so would be lacking this most iconic landmark which instantly distinguishes Paris from other cities. In front of the Eiffel tower in the picture you see green space of the Champ de Mars, and behind the Eiffel tower you see the skyscrapers of the business district La Défense. The big green hill near the top left of the picture is Mont Valérien. The big road below that in the picture is Boulevard de Grenelle. The domed building at the bottom right of the picture is L'Hôtel national des Invalides. The lone skyscraper near the top right of the picture is the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile (formerly known as Hôtel Concorde La Fayette). A little to the right and slightly down from that is the famous Arc de Triomphe.
