Duarte's collection and outdoor catwalk in the streets of the Chueca neighborhood in Madrid, Spain during Madrid es moda week, to vindicate the role of signature fashion and crafts as key elements in the economy and culture. The Spanish firm Duarte is the first textile brand to launch an antiviral collection Faced with the pandemic and the existing need to protect itself, the Spanish fashion firm Duarte has created a small textile collection resistant to the viruses that cause covid-19. They are garments, both feminine and masculine, "practical and functional" that are designed to withstand fifty washes and ironing at a maximum of 110º C and, in addition, are sustainable with the environment. After making thousands of masks with specific fabrics that protect against viruses, Duarte applied the same technology to the fabrics of his garments to achieve maximum viral safety, "up to 90 percent", assures Kiko Font. The formula, as he explains, consists of a primer spray that is applied to each fabric before cutting and sewing so that each piece is resistant to viruses. In addition, all the garments in this new collection have perfect breathability so they are washable, up to fifty times without losing properties, and can be ironed at high temperatures and is made with fabrics that do not harm the environment. The idea of this collection is also to impose itself on fast fashion, "throwaway fashion", says the firm's creative director, for whom the "responsible use of fashion" is very important. With organic fabrics such as cotton and linen, Font has built a simple, practical and functional collection. "They are basic garments, very wearable."
