Cathedral of St John the Baptist and John the Evangelist was commenced in 1260 but only completed at the end of the 15 th century. It's tower contains Poland's second largest historic bell the Tuba Dei (God s Trumpet), cast in 1530 and weighing 7238 kgs. The one handed 15 th century clock is still in working condition. The former Hanseatic town was the birth place of Mikolaj Kopernik (Nicolaus Copernicus) the famous astronomer.
