Conklin is part of a group of Airmen assigned to 1st Detachment, 64th Air Expeditionary Group that are assisting with the vaccination efforts. His main responsibility is supporting the local community members by ensuring COVID-19 vaccines are used in a timely manner, minimizing waste. To his family back home, he said, “It feels awesome to help people here in Detroit, and the weather reminds me of western Washington.” Conklin is ready to provide a helping hand to the community of Detroit. Northern Command, through Army North, remains committed to providing continued, flexible Department of Defense support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency as part of the whole-of-government response to COVID-19.
