Tidepool, Oregon coast

During extremely low tides, rocks that are normally under water are exposed, leaving pools of sea water, known as "tidepools", in their hollowed out areas. This one is typical, with lots of sea anemones (Anthopleura xanthogrammica) and sea stars (Pisaster ochraceus) "starfish", which feed on the anemonae and various mollusks that are also plentiful here.
