12/11/15 Children's Room - Dickens' Christmas Fireside Tales. Fifty years after being jilted by her lover and stopping the clocks in Statis House, Miss Haversham, still wearing her wedding dress, stands by her wedding breakfast table in a room themed around Charles Dickens' Great Expectations. It is one of seven rooms at Tissington Hall, Derbyshire portraying different scenes from Dickens novels as part of the Hall's 'What The Dickens?' event that will be showing a darker side to Christmas. Tissington Hall set in The Peak District near Ashbourne is said to be haunted. Tours starting next week will allow visitors to search for ghosts and experience the spookier side of Christmas.
