Stock is getting more plentiful daily Und prices show a considerable drop. Counter trade has diminished a little, but there is plenty of other work, es- pecially for funerals. Koses are cleaning up well, especially Columbia, Ophelia and Premier, for which there is a heavy demand. Col- ored carnations are picked up readily. The cut of bulbous stock is larger than the demand and considerable quantities are left after the day's business. The demand for violets has been light. Peas are arriving in quantity, with a fair de- mand. Calla lilies and snapdragons are in demand. Calendulas, wallflowers, daisies and other novelties are in de- mand. Various Notes. Edward Lewandowsky is opening a store at 3629 East Sixty-fifth street, a short distance from Broadway. Charles Bastian has left the employ of the Cleveland Plant & Flower Co. Mr. Bastian will open a store on Hayden square with J. Wilson. Miss Hester Getz has been confined to her home with an attack of influenza. Clarence Meyers is back on the job again after an attack of flu. Mark Emsley, of the J. M. Gasser Co., is suffering with a bad case of primrose poisoning. The Friedley Co. is consigning some fine bulbous stock to the Cleveland Cut Flower Co. W. F. B. .Tames McLaughlin, for several years manager of the wholesale store of the J. M.
