COMPILED FROM VARIOUS SOURCES. I all cases use the stomach-pump at once, if possible. ACIDS. Acetic. Prussia. Laurel Water. Nitrobenzole. Oil Bitter Almond. ANTIMONY. Butter Emetic. INORGANIC POISONS. Carbonates of sodium, potassium, calci-um, and magnesium are all antidotes. Inthe case of sulphuric acid, water should notbe drunk, as the union of the two producesgreat heat. Subsequent inflammation maybe treated in the ordinary manner. Carbonates of calcium and magnesiumalone should be employed ; see above. Ammonia is an antidote, but it shouldnot be employed in a very concentratedform. Liquid chlorine has also been foundefficacious. The cold douche to the headhas been recommended. Vomiting should be produced by ticklingthe fauces and giving large draughts ofwarm water. Astringent iufusions, asgalla, oak bark, Peruvian bark, act as an-tidotes, and should be given at once
