A watchtower in Trachili, on the west coast of Chios island. The medieval tower was build by the Genoese and it was part of Chios defence fortification and observation network, that continued to operate until the middle of the 18th century protecting and warning the island from pirate attacks. There use to be 30 towers on the coasts of the island.
