Hermitage of Sant Francisco de Olot in the Garrotxa region of Gerona province, Catalonia, Spain

San Francisco de Olot is a work of the municipality of Olot protected as a cultural asset of local interest. With the laws of the Count-Duke of Olivares, Catalonia entered a deep economic crisis in the seventeenth century. As a consequence of these disorders, it is not possible to speak in Olot of an architectural penetration of the Baroque. The constructions are scarce; they are practically limited to the chapel of San Francisco de Padua in the Montsacopa, at the expense of the apothecary Gabriel Nadal, cured of the plague of 1629-30, and in the Capuchin convent founded in 1627. During the first half of the nineteenth century, after From the Spanish War of Independence, the chapel was rebuilt (1817). It is a chapel with a single nave, with a transept that is pronounced on the outside, covered with a dome and a tower bell tower. The walls were plastered. Attached to the chapel there is a masovería.
