Camp Fire Burn Scar, 2018
This satellite image 0f northern California shows the burn scar (at exact center of image) that resulted from the Camp Fire, which has destroyed more than 18,000 structures and caused at least 85 deaths. The fire, which charred more than 153,000 acres, was fully contained as of the date of this image. The image was acquired by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite on November 25, 2018.
