The armature can be removed quickly; the outside bear-ing housing is readily removed by taking out three cap screwsand one retaining nut. Steam from the boiler is admitted to the turbine through agovernor valve that is automatically controlled by a centrifugalgovernor on the end of the turbine shaft, which, by regulatingthe valve opening, maintains constant turbine speed. In designing this turbo-generator care was taken to keep allparts easily accessible for inspection or repairs, and to providelarge bearings. A detachable outer shell at either end provides. The Sunbeam Headlight almost instant access to the governor on one end and the arma-ture on the other. Further removal of a cast iron housing, which is held by set screws, gives access to the turbine wheelor armature. Lubrication is provided for by grease cups andlarge grease wells which surround the ball bearings, making dailyattention unnecessary. The six-volt turbo-generator system is the latest has a capacity of 150 watts at 2,400 The weight is120 lb., and the over-all dimensions, 14 in. by 19 in. by 15 The machine is built either with or without the throttling governor. When used without the governor the speed is keptpractically constant by means of a reducing valve supplementedby a patented friction device which prevents excessive is prevented from leaking out of the bearings by bush-ings having spiral oil grooves cut in them, which tend to returnthe lubricant to the bearings. This effects economy in lubrica-tion and also prevents greas
