The New Gallery with the Glockenspielpavillion beyond, Zwinger Palace, Dresden, Sachsen (Saxony), Germany.
A masterpiece in Baroque style, the palace was built for Augustus the Strong by Matthaeus Daniel Pöppelmann between 1710 and 1732. It was badly damaged in 1945, and in addition the soft sandstone is also being damaged by modern pollution. The Glockenspielpavillion has a carillon of 40 Meissen porcelain bells and the clock chimes on the hour.
