Gardan GY-80-160 Horizon Taxiing at Inverness Dalcross Airport Scotland SCO 2511


A subdivision of Aérospatiale of Sud-Aviation, Nord-Aviation, and well-known designer Yves Gardan built and marketered this four-seat all-metal light aircraft of Yves Gardan design. The GY 80 Horizon prototype first flight was on 21:st of July 1960. Socata built some 259 units before production ended in 1969. GY 80 Gardan Horizon Project One of only some 259 built. The GY 80 Horizon is a 4-seat low-wing monoplane. The GY 80 Horizon has semi retractable landing gears tricycle type, half of each wheel remains exposed when retracted. Incl. Lycoming 160-hp (119-kW), standard GY 80 engine, fixed pitch, two blade propeller.
