This latter genus is mostlytropical, or a native of the warm temperate zones in America, the East Indies, and only exceptions to this rule are the Eriocaulon pellucidum of Michaux, and the plant inquestion; the tbrmer being found in North America as high as Canada; and, upon exami-nation, the two species prove identical.
