(See MapNo. 27.) These maps locate this part of the frontierin opposition to the British claims by the evidence oftheir own cartographers. Furthermore, the openingof Portland Channel into Dixons Entrance is shownby two official maps of the British number 2431 of the British Admiralty, pub-lished on the 13th of July, 1865, corrected to Feb-ruary, 1901, on which Observatory Inlet is markedaccording to Staff Commr.
