Miniature, at Montagu House, Whitehall, the townresidence of the Duke of Buccleuch, famous for its noblecollection of English miniatures. At the foot is fixed a smallplate bearing the inscription : WiUiam Drummond. Theartist is generally supposed to be Isaac OHvier or Oliver(?i556-i6i7). This miniature, as far as we can see, has no affinity toany of the other portraits, and probably represents aWilliam Drummond, of which there were several, belong-ing to another branch of the family.
