Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, April 9, 2017: In Rio de Janeiro there is great devotion to St. George, known as The Holy Warrior. Devotees of religions such as Catholicism, umbanda and candomble, celebrate the Holiday of St. George in Rio de Janeiro on April 23, with great parties all over town. In the suburbs of Rio, in neighborhoods like Madureira, Marechal Hermes, Sulacap and Bento Ribeiro there are pictures of São Jorge in chapels, monuments and oratories that were installed by the devotees, who take care of the images throughout the year.
