The Strathaven Balloon Festival takes place over 3 days in late August each year with one flight of balloons taking place on the Friday and two on the Saturday and Sunday, depending on the conditions -t here must be little or no wind. The Saturday and Sunday morinng flights take place very early. The festival takes place in the town park and is accompanied by a fair with stalls and rides.
