Deserted and derelect buildings on Edge Lane in Edge Hill district of Liverpool on Merseyside boarded with colorful artwork during Liverpools year as capital of culture 2008. Awaiting redevelopment by the Kensington Regeneration Scheme and the Pathways Project originating from John Prescots office. In 2006 local resident Elizabeth Pascoe won an appeal in the Royal Courts of Justice to halt the scheme as it violated Human Rights of the local community residents. Compulsory purchase of the Edge Hill and Kensington homes has been referred to as social cleansing.
