When the Trendelenburg posture is assumed the pa-tients abdomen will be higher than the head of the assistant ad-ministering the narcosis, if he be seated (which he should be), andthe difficulty mentioned is overcome. This calls for a source oflight as high up as is feasible, and in all operations this should beborne in mind.
