Bonnaf- fons are at their best right now. Roses are- making a good showing and are fairly popular. Carnations while of good quality are not much in demand. There will be plenty of azaleas for the Christmas trade. Florists are showing some excellent specimens of cyclamen. NOTES. A new florist's shop has opened up for business on Madison street, called the Sign of the Rose. This store is operated by Mrs. June and Mr. White. Mrs. June is a well-known Toledo club woman of a wide acquaintance, but with no experience in the flower busi- ness. Mr. White formerly operated a flower store in Massillon, Ohio, and in Niagara Falls. Mr. White says he is disgusted the way Toledo real estate and insurance men have treated him and stated that business was very quiet. The firm has a flower booth at the Peace Carnival, which is being held at the Woman's building, that is at- ^•acting a lot of favorable attention. Their fixtures were purchased from the Art Floral which went bank- rupt some months ago. Mrs. J. B. Freeman had a splendid autumn trim in her display windows I during the week that attracted a lot \ of favorable attention.
