He studied in Howard College and the SouthernBaptist Theological Seminary. Although his active ministry was largelyoutside the State much of his work brought him in close contact withBaptist affairs in Alabama. As editor of the Baptist World, he performeda service for all Baptists everywhere. With a genius for making a Baptistnewspaper seldom found in any man, he used his gifts in an effort tobring to pass his motto: Christ for the World, The World for Christ.
