His first religious impressionsdate very early, but it was in the Sabbath-school, under theinstructions of a faithful teacher, that he became deeply exer-cised in mind. The storm within, however, after a while wasquelled, and, finding peace in the Savior, he soon made apublic profession of piety, uniting with the Reformed DutchChurch in New Brunswick.
