Erupting Mount Tarawera on New Zealand's North Island created at 10 June 1886 the 17 kilometers long Waimangu Volcanic Rift Valley. It is now the youngest geothermal ecosystem with a wide variety of volcanic features like the Cathedral Rocks with hot steam coming out.
