It is not uncommon to find the male of one species and the female of another species of the same genus in one small plankton gathering. : In addition to Idyaea fiircata, already mentioned, there were present a number of other interesting Harpacticoids. The Family Ectino- somidae is represented by Ectinosoma melaniceps Boeck; the length of the female measured about mm., which is the size of a closely related species, E. normani, both ha\ing7-jointed antennules (anterior antennae), but the particular 327.
