A long stretch of pristine white sand at Jervis Bay National Park near Hyams Beach, NSW Australia

Jervis Bay is one of those jewels that never ceases to impress. Its prisitine white beaches and beautiful clear water make it popular indeed. Finding an unblemished beach without foot prints is virtually impossible unless an outgoing tide towards Sunrise creates a clean canvas. I sometimes misjudge the time needed to get to a destination. In this case I arrived with a few minutes to spare before sunrise so had missed the twilight colour. I concentrated on a creek flowing to the bay as the sun began to rise and then found this isolated strand of seaweed. I knew this was it. I chose my widest angle lens and took two shots, one at infinity and one at one metre, knowing that I'd stitch them together post process. Without camera movements, this was the only way to render all in focus as I was very close to the foreground which would be slightly blurred at infinity.
