The Railway Department of The Inter-national Correspondence Schools ofScranton, Pa., are giving out some cardshaving a very good cut of the gjX-inchair pump on one side, and some pertinentquestions about the operation of the pumpon the other. The inspirators thatare secured side by side on the boiler headdeliver the water into one pipe, whichpasses through the back head and is con-veyed by an interior pipe towards the the valves in the steam head in properposition for the upward stroke, the otherkind shows the pump on the down stroke,and the question is asked: Which wayam I goingâup or down?
