The Caroline Street canal basin and wharf in Bootle. The basin and wharf are possibly going to regenerated in a project called Destination Bootle

Cw 7154 Caroline Street basin and train The Caroline Street canal basin and wharf in Bootle on Merseyside. The basin or arm and wharf are alongside the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Neither have been used commercially for many years and are now the subject of proposals to redevelop the canal side area as part of a regeneration package into a new "neighbourhood" called Destination Bootle. The proposed development could result in new houses and apartments being built on the wharf and alongside the canal next to the nearby Lock and Quay pub. The development area is bisected by the Liverpool to Southport railway line, with a train from Hunts Cross to Southport about to cross the canal with The Lock and Quay pub being on the other side of the railway embankment.
